Seasonal Greeting Cards for Festive Seasons
Dear Friends
Just like previous years, we would like to remind you not to send Seasonal Greeting Cards (Hard Copies) as is not a practical and a true way to celebrate the festive season!
Here is an option of the practical and true ways of celebration!
If you or your organization would like to celebrate Festive Seasons in the true and practical way in which it should be celebrated by helping people in need (especially our children) as well as our environment. Please consider the money budgeted for Seasonal Greeting Cards, which can be instead donated to any local community charities like C.C.F (Christian Children’s Fund), UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund), and World Vision Foundation of Thailand etc. In addition, your donation is tax deductible; moreover, payment can be done by credit cards which you can earn points from your donations as well.
By not sending Seasonal Greeting Cards, you may mention the reason at the end of all your correspondence as the footer during the festive season. This would create good public perception toward your company (see sample of footer and letter of announcement below for your kind consideration).
Thank you for your valuable times reading this message, if there is anything that I may assist; please do not hesitate to contact us. And if you think, this is good idea; please sell this idea to your colleagues.
With very best wished

We have not sent Greeting card this year, as we would like to celebrate Christmas in the true way in which it should be celebrated, helping people in need as well as our environment. Therefore, all money budgeted for Greeting cards is being donated to a local community charity C.C.F (Christian Children’s Foundation), paying the education fees for pool children in Thailand. Thank you for your understanding and please accept out best wishes for healthy and prosperous 2012 and successful start of the year”.

Baan Bhavana Background
This
story is how events in my life led me to create the Baan Bhavana facility and
its importance in many lives.
During 1997 the Asian financial crisis (Tom Yam Kung) started in Thailand was caused by monetary indiscipline. It was at this time I thought that I needed to develop and educate myself for a better qualification so that I could survive in this more complicated world. In 1999 I undertook a two-year course, an Executive MBA. I hoped that I could gain the business knowledge and improve my working ability and life skills. I graduated with an MBA in 2001 and secured a respected job in an international firm, but I was not happy as I expected.
During 2001 my wife insisted I attend a 7-day Vipassana (Insight Meditation) course. The course changed me; I quit smoking and drinking and I learnt the nature of the truth and saw things in a new light. Since then I have been practicing insight meditation and try to use the Buddhist theory of mindfulness whenever I can. I realized that the MBA helped me secure employment to make a living, but it did not teach me the art of living in the spiritual world. I am now continuing to practice insight meditation and seeing the happenings of the world as phenomena of nature.
In 2007, my wife had an operation and she suffered considerably from the medical treatments. She is a Catholic, but has been learning and practicing Vipassana (Insight Meditation) daily. Because of this she has handled the pain well and dealt with the suffering in a very calm manner. During my wife’s hospitalization I learnt that the illness is caused by the modern ways of living and our lifestyles. I also learnt that city lifestyle is not good for our health. It was a fortunate that my brother in law shared part of his beautiful piece of land and I was able to build a vacation home at Khao Yai, where the world heritage Khao Yai National Park is located. According to the NASA ozone map, this area is ranked no. 7 in the world for the high content of oxygen.
In 2008, the sub-Prime crisis caused an economic downturn in the US. After the Yellow Shirt protests at theSuvarnabhumi
Airport in December 2008,
I was asked to leave the company. This did not upset me as I knew that I would
leave the company sooner or later. I was lucky that I’d learnt and understood
the nature of truth; I accepted this change with calmness. I thought it was positive that I was out of a
job because I had the time to build a family vacation home at Khao Yai. Therefore, I sold my house in Bangkok and build a
vacation home in Khao Yai in mid 2009.
Bhavana is a Pali and Sanskrit word which literally means development, becoming cultivated and productive within the concept of Buddhist practice. The word Bhavana normally appears in conjunction with another word forming a compound phrase such as Citta-Bhavana (the development or cultivation of the heart/mind). At Baan Bhavana we like to develop and practice mindfulness and insight meditation. The retreat was built to accommodate our lifestyles and daily activities include morning/evening chanting, insight meditation, Cankama (walking meditation), reading Buddhist books, cooking healthy food, and organic gardening. We enjoy the nature and wish to live peacefully for the rest of our lives. This is a “Sappaya” (favorable) place for meditation practicing or just relaxes and enjoys clean air and beautiful nature. This will be the place for me to stay and practice meditation after I retire from work and enjoy a fruitful and fulfilling life. I am grateful to be fulfilling my dream and would like to share the facilities to whom have similar interests.

INSPIRATION
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.
We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.
The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway, one of my favourite quotes comes from Alfred D Souza. He said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life.
But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid, pain to get through.
Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life". This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, reassure every moment that you have.
Treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with...and remember that time waits for no one... So stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until the pain is gone, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until you are off welfare, until the first or fifteenth, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink, until you've sobered up, until you die, until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy...
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Body Biological Clock
Your body has a built-in clock! Every organ in your body has a repair/maintenance schedule to keep on a daily basis.
If you feel unusual at these times of day (headaches, inactive), you will know which organ is trying to repair the damage done to it, and these ‘feelings’ you are having are the result of the energy being expended to do these repairs.
Health Repair Table:
Lungs: 3am-5am Large intestine: (or colon) 5am-7am Stomach: 7am-9am Spleen: 9am-11am Heart: 11am-1pm Small Intestines: 1pm-3pm Bladder: 3pm-5pm Kidneys: 5pm-7pm Pancreas: 7pm-9pm Blood Vessels and Arteries: 9pm-11pm Gallbladder: 11pm -1am Liver: 1am-3am
Lungs: The lungs are the first organs of the day that are up for repair and maintenance. Lungs begin loosening the poisoning waste between 3 to 5 a.m., and when you awaken, this is why you cough sometimes. Your lungs are trying to expel the loosened waste. If you are coughing in the morning, this indicates that your diet and lifestyle needs tweaking.
Large Intestine or Colon: 5 to 7 a. m. is the time for this organ. A healthy colon needs water to do its job properly, which is flushing waste matter 24/7. The morning is the most important time to drink plenty of water for this process, and the worst time to have caffeine. Caffeine is a diuretic and takes water away from your colon to your kidneys and bladder for evacuation. Your body needs water in the morning to do its repair and maintenance of the large intestine and colon. This helps you maintain digestion, normalize weight, slow down the ageing process. When you irrigate your system every morning with pure water (up to 32 oz.) your health improves. If you wait until you have a bowel movement before you eat in the morning, this is also healthier for your colon.
Stomach: Between 7 and 9 a.m., the stomach is repairing and does not need a big meal to deal with. While the large intestine and colon needs fluid to repair properly in the morning, the stomach needs very little. Start with fluids (pure water or fresh juiced vegetables) or fresh fruit that is easily digested. However, if you can, drink only fluids in the morning for optimal health.
Spleen: From 9 to 11 a.m. the spleen gets cleaned. During this time/process or when the spleen is in a weakened state, you may suffer with allergies or not be able to shake a cold or flu. This is because the spleen works with the liver and your immune system. A healthy spleen produces antibodies when there is an infection and constantly watches the blood for invaders.
Heart: The time for heart repairs is between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your body is removing waste from the heart and you may sometimes notice a rapid heartbeat, double beats and/or skipping beats. Seventy percent of heart attacks occur when the heart is in its repair period.
Small Intestines: Have you noticed that between 1 to 3 p.m. you are more apt to have indigestion, pain and bloating? If this happens, two things could be wrong: 1. Your diet is not what it should be and your food is not digesting; 2. Your diet is causing problems that are now causing you stress. A proper diet will help take care of these problems.
Kidneys and Bladder: From 3 to 7 p.m. you may notice you’re tired and want a nap. When the kidneys are healthy and working properly, you’ll feel energetic at that time, not tired.
Pancreas: Between 7 to 9 p.m. do you have intense cravings for sweets or processed carbohydrates that turn to sugar immediately in the system? The kidneys regulate the pancreas, and if you do consume sweets during that period, you may notice low back pain, which is a kidney symptom. The kidneys, bladder and pancreas are all parts of the same whole. If you need a nap early in the evening it is just your pancreas, as directed by your kidneys, putting you out so it can do its repairs.
Blood Vessels and Arteries: From 9 to 11 p.m. the blood vessels go into repair mode. The impact on the body is: headaches, weakness while vessels are in heavy repair.
Liver and Gallbladder: Between 11 p.m. to 3 a. m. these two guys go into action. Do you ever have nights when you can’t sleep at this time? This means that waste is not being processed by your liver and it acts as an irritant to your body causing insomnia and frayed nerves. Your brain just won’t stop.
Health Monitoring - know your body
The more you know about your body, the easier it is to maintain your health so start paying attention to your body’s health clock and repair schedule to see if you can figure out what’s going on inside you.
